Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari, he toa takitini

Kia ora, ko Kyla taku ingoa. Ngapuhi, Tainui
My Mum opened Nurture by Nature in 2005 so I have been apart of the Nurture whanau since the beginning. I became a full time teacher in 2015 and have worked across all three learning spaces, but predominately you will now find me in the Pohutukawa learning space teaching our 2-3 year olds.
I believe it is my role as a Kaiako to encourage and support the mātauranga that our tamariki bring with them into our learning space. I recognise that each child brings with them their own mana and identity, and that it is our role to create a safe and inspiring space where children can share their knowledge.
Bachelor of Education - Primary, Graduate Diploma ECE

Kia ora, my name is Amber Summers. I love fitness, the outdoors and music.
I currently live with my partner in Okaihau on a farm. I have been living in the Far North for 5 years now and absoutely love it.
I relieve across the 3 Learning Spaces. I believe the tamariki do their best learning in a happy and comfortable environment so they can thrive.

Kia Ora, my name is Paul Mikkelsen. I enjoy music and the outdoors as well as play and coach inline hockey.
I have been teaching at Nurture since 2019 and work predominately in the toddlers and pre-school Learning Space.
My teaching philosophy is heavily centred around theories of children learning through play, which is integral to the development of intelligence in children. Children develop by acting as little scientists who explore and interact with their world to understand people, objects and concepts. These theories allow me, as a teacher to develop a better understanding of the children’s thinking and to develop teaching strategies that extend and grow their learning.

My name is Saskia and recently relocated back to Kerikeri with my partner to start our family
I have a passion for extending interests for young children and believe in making a difference within the next generation. I love expanding on interests in the outdoors through exploration and teaching our tamariki about caring and nurturing for Papatūānuku. Teaching our younger generation about sustainability within everyday living is an important part of my philosophy.
I believe in teaching tamariki respect and love for one another, Manaakitanga and Kaitahitanga. Teaching begins with relationships with all, including whānau, Kaiako and the wider community through whanaungatanga. I practice Te Reo Māori daily to ensure biculturalism is inclusive and Tikanga is included throughout my practice.
